In healthcare, Standard Development Organizations (SDOs) play a crucial role in creating and maintaining standards that ensure the interoperability, safety, and quality of healthcare systems and services. These organizations work collaboratively with healthcare providers, insurers, software developers, and other stakeholders to develop standards that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.

Announcing the Kick-off of X12’s 008060 Education/Information Series
X12 is pleased to announce that the first webinar in its continuing education/information series is scheduled for next Tuesday, March 31, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
This session focuses on X332, the Health Care Eligibility/Benefit Inquiry and Information Response (270/271).
The ASC Chair, Michelle Barry, has prioritized X12-produced education and information in her first term, establishing a new task group at the committee level to focus on this important outreach. Barry noted, “I’m pleased to see the first session scheduled. This task group was born of the X12 leaders’ commitment to delivering timely and practical education directly to implementers and stakeholders. Donna Campbell, the chair of the new task group, brings her energy, expertise, and the leadership needed to guide this effort effectively.”
We'll start with webinars and on-demand content to help industry stakeholders understand the enhancements in the 008060 versions of standards already mandated under HIPAA. The next offerings in the series are listed below.
We will also offer webinars or on-demand presentations on the following implementation guides.
Donna Campbell, chair of X12’s new Education and Information Task Group, emphasized the teamwork involved, “This first session, and those that follow, are the culmination of a lot of work by many dedicated experts. I’m proud to contribute to designing and producing information that supports better care for consumers, easier processes and better information for providers, and cost savings for health plans. When a solution is good for all the stakeholders, it’s a good day for the health care industry.”
Registration for the Health Care Eligibility/Benefit Inquiry and Information Response (270/271) webinar is open now.
Register now for your seat at this initial session.
If your schedule doesn’t permit you to attend the March 31 session, you will have other opportunities to attend. All the 008060 webinars will be repeated at a regular cadence over the coming months.
If you have any questions, please submit them via the X12 feedback form.
